Overview: A coral bells grown for its rosy-red foliage with silver overtones.

Mature size: Approximately 1–1.5 ft. tall and wide.

Sun exposure: Partial shade; morning sun with afternoon shade works best in the South

Flowering season: Late spring through summer, with airy flower spikes above the foliage

Hardiness: USDA Zones 4–9

Water needs: Average; consistent moisture in well-drained soil

Special features: A Heuchera villosa hybrid, generally more heat- and humidity-tolerant than standard Heuchera cultivars. Evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial grown chiefly for its colorful foliage; deer- and rabbit-resistant (the tannins in the leaves are unappetizing to browsers); if leaves look ragged, cut them back to encourage fresh new growth; mulch to protect roots in winter

Wildlife value: Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds

Botanical name: Heuchera x villosa 'Carnival Watermelon'

Category: Perennial
